Why can't I finish anything for myself?

Any time I try and do something, whether it be an exercise program, building something, or even planning something I can never ever finish it, I've literally never finished a single video game.
But when I'm at work, I finish everything I do, can it just be the money?
Does anyone else have this, or more so, any advice? I'm nearly 30, I'm sick of being pathetic.
