Can you suck on a piece of candy without biting into it?🍬

I was thinking back to the very 1st recreational drug that I abused, sugar, and (ever since I can remember)no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't never suck on a piece of candy or lollipop without biting into it probably to release the sugars quicker and to get the rush. Is this just me or have others with BPD experienced this. I'm curious if this could be used as an early sign of impulsively in children or if I'm just reading too much into it.
