What do you do to calm down when you start "seeing red"?

I find that when I'm particularly upset or hurt by my partner that I see red, not in the sense so much that I rage, but that I'm just cold and heartless and split on him in the moment. I'm just pissed off and annoyed with how he handles situations.

Eventually I come down from it and I feel bad that he feels bad for hurting me, but in the moment I even try to talk myself down from it and I never can.

I could use some advice, thanks in advance!!

Yep, this. If I notice in time I have some frozen oranges that I roll on my arms and thighs and face which help a bunch but sometimes nothing helps but the ice bath ๐Ÿ˜‚
