Post Body

I have a friend who I care for a lot, and they have bpd and suicidal tendencies.

They recently had an event and they sent me messages telling me they had nothing to live for. And that they were going to end it all that evening, everything seemed to matter of fact.

They had told me at a previous time that they had been picked up before over it and it was the worst experience of their lives. I'd never want them to have to go through that again.

But this time around seemed different. I tried looking for a mutual friend but came up short.

I didnt have any of their contact info, so i contacted a suicide hotline for support and i got transferred to a police station and gave any info i had.

Turns out the police gave my name and they have the friend in custody. But not before they sent me a bunch of very angry messages across multiple platforms telling me it was a mistake to ever have talked to me and blocked me everywhere.

I havent stopped crying since but I genuinely need to understand what else I could have done? What were they expecting me to do or how to react?
