A close, long time friend of mine recently went to the psych ward and was diagnosed with BPD. The diagnosis makes sense and I believe that I might have been her FP for awhile.
She’s still at a hospital and has now blown up at me, and whenever mutual friends call her she rants about me and that I’m a terrible and self interested friend. Most of the things she is saying are untrue or exaggerated.
Apparently she told her doctors a bunch of stuff about me and they said I gave her PTSD and that she should never talk to me again. She said she wants to see if I’ll improve myself and apologize before being my friend again only because we’ve been friends for so long. I am not sure if I want to stay friends especially because of how she’s blown things out of proportion.
I’m most worried about the doctors aspect. Could I actually have given her PTSD? Is it typical for someone with BPD to act this way with the exaggeration? And is the friendship worth trying for or should I let it go?
Thank you all!
