I recently started taking to someone online. After afew days they told me they have bpd. They seem to want to meet and talk to new people. However they are always reserved with what they say, this makes more sense knowing about diagnosis. I'm only just coming to grips with bpd, there are alot of different symptoms. This person has had therapy in the past but has chosen to refuse any help and believes they can manage symptoms. That's fair enough but Idk how well they are coping. All this person does is sit around the house and works maybe 20hrs a week . They admit they have a boring life, having no hobbies or social life. Just supposedly sleeping all day and night. I don't know if this is genuine or because they don't want to reveal what they are doing.
Maybe it's because I'm lonely, or maybe it's because this person is sweet and genuine. But I want to become friends with them and in some way help, they deserve a better life and more help. Or maybe I should respect their decisions. I don't know Or maybe I should not get involved and stop contact with them. I usually get quick replies, but I have no idea how much they want a friend and if it's worth it to make the effort.
Any thoughts on this situation are appreciated. I don't know alot about bpd but I want to do what's right.
