Exhausted from stopping my impulses

I’m impulsive and self-destructive. I have been for a LONG time. I finally started DBT and am ready to get better. But after a couple weeks of getting my unhealthy impulses under control, I am EXHAUSTED.
To anyone that’s gone through it or going through it - what do you do? I’ve got self-care activities and strategies but they’re not taking away from the emptiness and exhaustion that make me want to quit trying.
