Post Body

iā€™m nearly 20 and no longer live with my parents. my mom is aware iā€™m in therapy, to the extent that sheā€™s aware of is for severe dissociation and bdd, however, i get my official bpd diagnosis next week. iā€™m not sure how to tell her. i only see her 2-3 times a year for short intervals and she lives a few states away. she refused to believe i was even the slightest bit depressed as a kid despite showing behaviors since i was in elementary school. im not sure if she will react well, honestly i think i got this from her, and i place my bet on her saying my therapist is wrong. i have the quiet subtype so all of my behaviors are directed inward, so itā€™ll make it more difficult for her to believe bc to her im ā€œnormalā€. iā€™ve considered making a cake that just says ā€œiā€™m borderlineā€ on it as a joke and telling her to lighten the mood, but i genuinely donā€™t know how to tell her.
