Warming a bedroom with BOINC and similar software?
Post Body

Greetings, at the end of this month I'm moving into a place with only electric heat in the bedroom. I figure if I'm going to use electricity for heat it might as well do something else useful.

Can BOINC be configured to use maximum CPU / GPU resources rather than sit at low priority and use whatever is available?

Is this doable for a non programmer and light but long term linux user? Since 2007 I haven't had to delve deeply into command line function to use it as my home OS.

I'm in coastal California so it's not that cold of a locale.

Edit: I just found another thread on this from a while back. https://www.reddit.com/r/buildapc/comments/3lh09d/using_pc_as_a_heater/

and another:

A liquid cooled computer could run the fluid into a radiant heated floor in a bathroom or shower stall to make it more comfy. Also into a layer on a bed, perhaps under the fitted or even under the mattress. It would be insulated from the occupant under the mattress but over time it would make a difference.

Thank you.
