I've had i3 for a little over a month and really like it so far. I have solar at my house which generates more than 100 percent of my electrical needs, including my i3. So I literally have zero cost to run the vehicle.
But, if I didn't have solar my electric bill would be huge. Here in AZ your electric bill is already pretty huge due to the excessive heat and A/C, then on top of that adding in an electric car would make the electric bill even bigger.
I've crunched the numbers and the cost of electricity is probably more than gas. But, I have solar, so easy decision for me to go electric.
How do you justify an electric car if you don't have solar or some other way of getting cheap electricity? My friends love my car but none are interested in an electric car because they would worry about how much their electric bill would be.
