I own a bmw e31 1997 840Ci with the m62b44 V8. The car has been sat for 14years (maybe more) and I have just started to work on it, I’ve replaced the fuel pump fuel lines and the car cranks over and runs very rough but slowly gets better as it settles in idle. It’s hooked up to a OBD2 diagnostic tool and the car is trimming the fuel lines in each bank to be Lean like very lean, with the short term fuel trim going as low as -25% for both banks. I’ve cleaned the MAF as best I bought and the idle throttle valve just above which was a bit gummed up. The car is also misfiring according to the diagnostic tool, I know the two are obviously related however the tool says the car isn’t thinking it’s running rich!?!
Any help would be great.
