Self check out etiquette

4th time this has heppened to me at a BJs. Multiple self check out lanes. Some are 10 items, some 25 items and some unlimited. I have 1 item so I walk up to the under 10 items and I get yelled at that there is only 1 line for all self check out. How can that be? At a minimum there should be 3 lines dependent on the # of items you have. I would argue each row is its only line, but let’s start with the obvious, 3 differing cart quantity, at least 3 different lines….. not 1 single line.
