Deli Toxicity
Post Body

I just started my 2nd week and the rivalry between opening and closing shift is insane. They started me off shadowing a morning person but I ended up with closing shift since they needed that more.

I got along with both shifts so far... on the surface. But from what I've experienced: both shifts are full of shit. Nothing gets done because they all think they do more work than the other. Literally the first thing both shifts say to me is good luck picking up the other shifts' slack.

Don't get me wrong. They're working hard. Deli is like nonstop from 10am to 4pm from what I've seen. Outside of those hours where things could be done. They leave it for the other shift or new hires like me or even management lol. Which I don't quite understand why...

I'm the bottom guy of the totem pole so no outward complaints... but the stress is getting to me.

TL;DR Management doesn't care. Whichever shift I'm with tells me to do less work while opposite shift complains that I need to do more.
