White belt here. When I started, it was hard for me to submit anyone. I am a lot stronger than an average woman, specially lower body, but I was on the mat like a sack of potatoes lol. Then I picked up a few basic moves but I could only apply on white belt guys smaller and weaker than me. Females in my gym are blue and above, so I could not even survive against them. Even if a white belt guy was similar strength as me, I would lose. No chance of winning!

Today was the first day I went against a dude! He was a white belt not massive but taller and heavier than me but newer. I was started with no hopes because I had never even survived against a guy of his size and strength! Zero Chance! I pulled him in guard. He is new so he was trying to break out and I was not letting him posture up. This went on for some time and then I thought, he is newer than me so why am I so nervous? He was sort of getting frustrated trapped in the guard. Then I did a scissor sweep and then next thing my mind remembers is I was on the mount on him.

He was desperately trying to "bench press" me off of him because he did not know anything I guess,. I did not know what to do because it was like riding a out of control rodeo bull lol He started to get more and more exhausted. Then I felt that he has no fight left in him. So I did a cross collar choke and in the beginning I felt like it was not working and then he tapped out! After that, he got up and gave me a hug and high five! It felt like the best High Five of my life! lol.

I asked him if he was going easy on me? He gave me such a weird look and laughed and said "Girl, I was fighting for my life!"
