I've been looking into mods to see how I could go with this idea I had of a way to change resource allocation and usage, which would require to have only 1 slot for each spell level and an auto-recharge time of that slot based on its level.
All I've been able to find is a mod that simply recharges all resources after combat but it does not affect them during combat at all.
Would someone more knowledgable be able to tell whether it's something feasible or if combat mechanics are unreachable through mods?
Mods could do this. I'm not aware of any that currently do, but the list is long and I certainly haven't seen them all.
I am aware of unlimited slots mod that make all leveled spells not use up their slots in combat.
Because of the action economy infinite slots would be what your looking for as you will still only be able to cast one action and one bonus action per round. You are also not required to take all your actions each round. so after you cast your spell and move your done if you legit only want one spell per round.

Basically you're looking for a mod that allows you to 1) learn (or gives an item that lets you use) meta magic for spell slots on every class, and as a free action. 2) gives (or gives an item that gives) sorcery points at the beginning of each round. 3) sets the total number of slots per level to 1.
I'm not a modder, but I know mods that allow you to learn other class abilities exist. And items that heal a certain amount at the start of each round exist. So I know this mod is doable.
