I am all for a challenge but the fight against these bastards is straight up dumb. I’m also starting to notice a trend of some similar BS as I’m getting into act 2. It makes me feel like they didn’t balance the game very well. For reference im level 6 party wise. I have some fairly sensible strategies to try to do the fight but we ended up having Asterion go invisible and just enter the next zone 😂. The next area is pretty BS to though cause it’s got this Shadow Curse BS. Go from being paralyzed, and loosing actions to being entangled and getting wrecked. To be fair I was rushing around looking for shit - but it’s kinda BS all the creatures have one damn theme and it just fucks your shit up. I also want to mention I’ve played DND as well so I know sometimes it can just be bad luck and shit - but bad, unfair monster design is bogus. Yes I am mainly referring to the Shepherds as they literally are bullshit.
TLDR : Most unfair fight in the game thus far - 0/10
EDIT
I’ve since beaten this encounter and have the following conclusions. Having Lae’zel as a level 5 fight and level 2 paladin made this fight way easier. I was able to use divine sense to get advantage on undead and pretty much stomped them with her. I guess I should have played around with the party more but I will say I’ve experienced a fight in act II that’s similar to this fight but not nearly as bullshit as this fight can be. I stand by a few point. One of which being that the shepherds shouldn’t be able to raise the guys back at full health. And I don’t think they should be able to raise another death shepherd. This is of course just my opinion but I feel like I was still stressing about this fight. I did use the iron flask in this fight which helped a lot in buying time the first round or 2.
