Not a typical r4r post, I know. But if you’re someone who’s been wanting to get in touch with their nerdier side for a while but hasn’t found the right opportunity, you’re in the right place.

A bit about me I’m 26 and have lived in nyc since graduating. I am extremely career-driven and have a high-powered job that can be stressful at times but is always rewarding. Outside of work, I do a lot to stay active. I lift, run, snowboard, swim, and believe strongly that maintaining physical health is the best thing you can do for your mental health. I read like crazy. But my favorite days are the ones spent exploring new york and appreciating all the unique experiences you can’t find anywhere else.

Most of my friends are former frat and srat types who work in finance. I love them, but I can only take so many conversations about football before my head will explode. I’m looking to assemble a small group with a more eclectic set of hobbies and interests. 

The Adventuring Party First and foremost, this will be a DnD group. No experience is required. Complete beginners are highly encouraged. Whether you have never played before or are highly experienced, if being a part of this group interests you I want you to reach out! 

I plan to DM and have done so before, but if DMing is a particular interest of yours please say so. 

But I also want this to be a group where you can bring your full self and find people who will appreciate any other interests you may have. Want to have a movie night for your favorite anime? Get into cosplay? Go rock climbing? See underground edm shows? Classical concerts? Share with us what you’ve always wanted to explore. 

Now you might reasonably wonder - why are you looking on this sub of all places? 

It seems to me that if you are reading this, you are exactly the type of person who would find value in this sort of group. You have an interest in the alternative but haven’t found the right people IRL just yet who share that interest.

As for kink - having friends who you can confide in is always invaluable. Personally, I don’t share this side of me with anyone and would appreciate a small circle who understand. Perhaps it can even be an element of a campaign down the line - I’m open to ideas.

You’re not committing to anything, and I will treat any information you share with the utmost discretion. If you think you’d enjoy a group like this, but think people who’d reply to this would have to be a bit weird, do it anyway and you might just be surprised :) 

Obviously, this process is inherently selective. I am only looking for 3-4 people to fill out this group. But exclusion is antithetical to everything I believe, so if you reach out, seem eager, and give a thorough description of who you are and what you’re looking for, I will be happy to connect you with others in my replies that I think would be a good fit for a team with you. (I realize discretion is important on this sub so we will not connect you to anyone else without your explicit consent.) 

Your reply should be sent via chat and must include the following - age/sex/location  - describe yourself, what your passions are, and how you think a group like this could be good for you - describe the dynamics of a group that you would be comfortable joining: how large? what sort of gender ratio? what age range?  - What is your experience with DnD? Do you want a group of highly experienced players? new players? Just want the group but not actually interested in DnD?  - As a bonus: your bdsm role (dom/me, sub, switch, unsure, etc.) 

The more you share about yourself, the better I may be able to match you with a fitting group.
