Haha, but in all seriousness, that quote highlights a major issue in most relationships: the unrealized and unspoken expectations that keep us trapped and unhappy. In my 20s, I experienced several vanilla relationships that felt unsatisfying and unrewarding. Over time, as I learned more about myself, I discovered that a D/s relationship is what I find most rewarding and fulfilling.
