You feel emptiness and frustration. There are people around you, but your voice is lost in the midst and you might as well be stranded on a deserted island. All the work you put into putting on the facade is destroying who you are. The worst part is that you cannot be honest and reveal your true self; everyone would reject you and look down on you. You struggle to keep up appearance of someone strong, capable, and in charge.
