I've had some, but limited success with kinky personal ads. I get that the odds are laughably against me being a male Dom because of the insane gender ratio in any personals/classifieds page, but I've had enough of a response in the past to warrant keeping some feelers out there.

Also important to note, is that I'm in no way limiting myself to online ads. This is just another tool in the box that extends beyond my local AO. I love getting out to munches, classes, events, and parties, and have met a lot of great people that way. It's just often tough meeting new partners in those places as an unpartnered male, because the vast majority of subs I'd be interested in go to those events with a partner.
