Skylar

Kristoff led me into the small room. Inside there was a bed and blanket. Along the back wall a very small window. In one corner a sink and toilet. It looked like a cell from a prison. A shiver went down my spine as Kristoff closed the door. I stood in the middle of the room and watched as he walked to the bed.

“Come, lay with me. You know Master Milo and Sir Zander would be pissed if I didn’t take care of you and talk to you. You need to know some things anyways. At least everything that I know.” He lightly tapped the bed. 

I stood and stared at him. “Why should I Kristoff? You were mean to me. You slapped me across my face.” Tears formed in my eyes. 

“I’m sorry, please come, let me explain.” His eyes were soft, and his body was no longer tense. I moved slowly to the bed, still unsure of Kristoff’s recent behavior change. He moved, laying down and lifted his arm inviting me to join him. 

I sunk down onto the bed, my body rigid at first. Against my will, my body relaxed as Kristoff pulled me close. 

“I’m sorry for slapping you across the face, it was just for the performance. I will never slap you across the face again. I was instructed to not check in. I wanted to, but Master Milo said not to.”
“Sir Milo is an ass” I interjected. 

“He seems like an ass. Something else is going on. I don’t know everything only what he told me. He’s never lied to me Skylar. He wouldn’t start now.” He said, not even upset that I called his Master an ass. “He took me away from the mansion and told me we had a job to do. He wouldn’t say what exactly, but he said it was important. This morning he came to me and told me I had to act dominant towards you. No one else could do it. He didn’t trust anyone else. I was hesitant at first but I knew he was right. Anyone else would have done much worse, and dragged it out much longer than I did.”

I reflected back on the performance as he referred to it. Before it even began he said to just follow along and he would explain later. The performance only took about ten minutes if that. He only slapped my face once, and them resorted to slapping my ass. “Why am I even here? Why couldn’t Sir Milo, or Master do it.”

Kristoff sighed, “I’m not sure why you are here, I was never told. I was chosen because Sir Zander wasn’t anywhere near here and both Sir Zander and my Master would have been recognized and apparently that would ruin the plan.”

I turned to face Kristoff. “The plan? The plan for what?”

“I don’t know. All I know is that I was asked by my Master to do this, that at a later point it will make sense, and I was the only one that was capable. I swear he wouldn’t lie and he wouldn’t put us in danger on purpose. He has something up his sleeve. I know it. Do you forgive me?” 

I sat in the silence for a moment thinking. “Yes, just please don’t do that again.” I had no reason to doubt him. Sir Milo did save me at the club, he comforted me when I had a nightmare, and he took care of me. The only evil thing Sir Milo did was kidnap me. That should erase every positive thing, but something in my gut told me it would be okay.

Kristoff kissed my head “I won’t I promise.”

I was still confused as to why Sir Milo drugged and kidnapped me. That was very odd behavior. 

“Did you know I was drugged?” I asked Kristoff. His grip tightened around me. 

“Yes, but Master said it was the only way. He couldn’t pull Sir Zander into it yet and he couldn’t bring you in awake and asking questions. He felt bad about it, but again, that’s why I was paired with you to make sure you stayed safe.”

“Thank you, Kristoff. For staying with me and talking with me. I’m really tired.”
“Anytime Skylar. I know it doesn’t make sense, but it will. Close your eyes. I’ll stay with you.” 

Kristoff pulled the blanket over us, making sure I would stay warm. His hand lightly rubbed my head as I allowed sleep to take over me.
