My face grimaced at the news. “When you’re done with Kristoff can you please go get some bandages for me?” Milo nodded “Kristoff, thank you for trying. I’m sorry you got hurt as well”
“It’s okay Zander, go to her.” Kristoff smiled softly.
I quietly walked to the bathroom door and knocked. “Love it’s me. Let me in” I heard no movement from behind the door. Just running water from the shower. “Love, I’m going to open the door”.I pushed the door with a little force and the lock broke. The room was filling with steam from the water. I closed the door behind me so she would have her privacy.
I found her on the floor of the shower with her clothes still on. She was using a cloth to scrub aggressively at her skin.
I stepped in to the shower and kneeled before her. My clothes getting soaked from the water.
“Love, your safe. You’re going to hurt your precious skin” I looked at her legs and arms they were already red and raw.
“He touched me” She sobbed. “I told him no but he did it anyway. I tried to push him away.He slapped me across my face and he cut my chest.” I saw the large gash that was still bleeding.
“He won’t hurt you again love.” I was able to take the cloth away from her. I helped her stand and turned off the water. She stood in my arms and cried for a while. I rubbed her head softly and tried to calm her. There was a knock at the door. Milo poked his head around the corner. “I have dry clothes for the both of you and here are the bandages.”
“Thank you, can you put them on the counter?” I waited till Milo was out of the bathroom. I then guided Sky out of the shower to where the towels were.
“Love” I said softly “Do you want me to help you change and dry off?” She shook her head. “Okay, I’ll step out. Please take these clothes off and dry off. When your finished use the towel to cover yourself. Call me when you’re ready and I will come take care of your cut.”
She nodded weakly.
I picked up my clothes that Milo brought me and left the bathroom.
“How is she?” Milo asked as I came out.
“Bad, the gash on her chest is still bleeding.” Milo winced. I quickly dried and changed so that I could be ready for Sky when she was done.
A few moments later a small sound came from the bathroom “Master, I’m ready”
I carefully opened the door and walked to where Sky was sitting on the sink.
The gash was deep, but with the ointment there shouldn’t be a scar.
“I’m going to place some onement on your chest and then a bandage. You’ll sleep in one of my shirts tonight.” Sky nodded to show her understanding.
Slowly I took care of the gash that was on her chest. Doing my best to not cause her any pain. When I finished I helped her with the shirt.
Sky carefully hoped off the counter and threw her towel in the hamper. I grabbed her gently and gave her another hug. Her eyes were bloodshot from crying and her skin was raw.
“It’s going to be okay love. I am going to give you something to help you sleep. Okay?”
She nodded as tears started to flood her eyes again.
I retrieved two pills from a bottle in a cabinet and filled a glass with water. Sky took the pills in with one big gulp of water.
“Good, now it’s time for bed. Those pills will kick in a moment.” I guided her out of the bathroom. Milo and Kristoff were still here. Milo sat on the bench along the windowsill and Kristoff was curled up next to him, his head on Milo’s lap.
“Kristoff and I wanted to stay, if you were okay with it.“I looked at Sky to see what she wanted.
“Yes, please stay.” she said softly “There’s plenty of room. Thank you, all of you.”
“Into bed love.” I could feel her body getting heavy with sleep. I pulled back the bed covers and she climbed into the middle. When she was settled I gave her a kiss on the head and tucked her in.“Sweet dreams love”. Within moments I could hear her slow-moving breaths indicating that she had fallen asleep.
