Vetting through previous partners
Post Body

Is it wrong to ask to chat to one of a potential partner's previous partners?

Someone I'm speaking to has just ridiculed that whole notion and I'm thinking that's a red flag. What do you all think?

Was I wrong to ask?

Was I being naive to ask as this person has suggested?

Or is this an acceptable part of the vetting process and is it a red flag that he's dismissing the notion out of hand? I'd be really interested to hear what you all think.
