I will be starting up the program in September, however, I have a tower and not a laptop/netbook. I am looking to buy something for the course, however, I am not really sure what I need.

I am not looking to game on it or do any video editing(I have my tower for that), just something cheap that would get me through the classes.

I guess my questions are

• How long should the battery life be?(and are there outlets to charge it during class)

• What type of programs are we running? How good does my hardware need to be to run the tools I will use in 1st/2nd year(like almost anything can run Eclipse, however, not everything can run Macromedia or Photoshop optimally)
