Why are bond holders not recovering their investment bullish for us?

So, it’s speculated that Jake Freeman, in connection with Short hedge funds, is holding a significant amount of bonds in bed bath and beyond.
However, freeman, alongside other bond holders not recovering their investment is bearish, no? If they can’t even be made whole, then why are shareholders going to receive anything?
I’m genuinely curious. I’m not sure how this is good for stock price, auction results, or anything else.
