Joining a younger class as an adult
Post Body

My city has one adult ballet class that is offered once a week. I love the class but I am the youngest (at 30) and there are only ever 4 students myself included. In addition two of the regulars only go for their "weekly" exercise. My teacher is great about making sure to keep things moving but also accommodating. I asked my teacher if there was another class I could take as one class a week is not enough. She said I would be welcomed to go to another class but the students would all be half my age and a bit more advanced. I have been attending class for some time and my teacher even encouraged demi-pointes for class. But at the pace I am at now I don't feel like I am improving.

Has anyone had to do this in order to advance? I told myself dancing with younger students wouldn't be so bad but as I get closer and read about people's opinions on students not being advanced enough for some classes and shouldn't be there, I am now more hesitant. I am really limited on options because of where I live and this is currently the only way to advance in anyway.

Any advice, tips or suggestions would be really great!
