I (M 20) spoke with my mom recently if I could use some of my stipend and scholarship money for ballet classes. She encouraged me to save it and set dancing aside for the time being. She used to do ballet from her early childhood till late teens.
For context, I discovered ballet because I got dropped from a varsity team and my body ached for movement. I tested a free ballet class taught by an acquaintance from my college. I thought you can also learn ballet online, but I consulted many past posts here and I don’t think that’s a good idea.
I hope I get to finish college and have some savings to spend on tuition. I’m quite late into the game but I’m also taking a theatre minor, where I think ballet in dance theatre would be a great combo. I will be back for the barres, the mirrors, the studio, the gallops I have yet to perfect. I hope I can get back to ballet soon.
