Sesamoid ligaments
Post Body

Have any of you ever had surgery to repair the ligaments that run from the base of the big toe to the sesamoid bones? I might need this surgery. I’ve spent a year icing, resting, getting steroid injections, going on oral steroids, and wearing a surgical boot and have seen no improvement. The recent MRI showed thinning of the ligaments from the big toe to the sesamoids, as well as swelling of the sesamoids. It hurts to walk (let alone relevé).

I got this injury last year when I wasn’t really warmed up and had to perform! I’m really worried I won’t get to go back to dance. Thought I’d see if anyone who’d had this surgery had recovered from it. If you’ve had it, how long did it take to recover? How was the recovery? Thanks!! :)
