I saw these shoes after reading a comment on a YouTube short and jumping down a rabbit hole. I went digging for people’s thoughts on this and I came up empty handed so I’ve come to the ballet subreddit to see everyone’s thoughts. Their fitting guide is the best explanation of their products that I can find as a lot of their videos aren’t in English and I’m disappointingly monolingual.
The shoes are genius developmentally and, from what I understand, can last for months vs the life of the traditional or even plastic point shoes. Dancers reportedly said they feel like “dancing on a cloud” and with the customizability of them I’d imagine you’re able to get a nearly if not perfect fit… but I personally am not in love with the look of the silicone (I think) sock for the foot and I’m curious how others feel about it as well. Am I late to hearing about this innovation? I’ve unfortunately been out of the dance world for a bit so this could be old news!
