The other day I did a try at a beginner adult class. Of course I wasn't as good as the others, it's been many years since I danced, and I didn't dance much as a kid. But I had fun and the exercises weren't hard, I just needed to get better. However the teacher, afterwards, tried to discourage me from signing up because I wasn't immediately good at first (from the way she said it). I'm a bit sad and also confused. Of course I'm not good, how am I supposed to get better if I don't try? She told me nobody in that class is an actual beginner, so there's false advertising too lol.
I feel a bit discouraged. Should I sign up anyways or would she get mad? Should I give up and do the sport I'm actually built for (figure skating)? Or try another type of dance? There's no nearby adult classes in my area except that one :(

Shame on that teacher honestly, if itβs a beginner class than she needs to accommodate.
