Hi all, I signed up to an adult beginner ballet class. This would be my first experience doing ballet. I'm a guy who hasn't done a lot of dancing in his life so I am both nervous and excited. ;)
I should have probably consulted this group first before letting my excitement go over my head and purchased these dance wear based on what I saw from a few male ballet dancers on social media:
- White color footed ballet tights
- Beige ballet slippers
- Nude color thong-type dancebelt
After reading a few posts here, I suspect that I may have overdone it, especially with the white tights.
a. Is it true that I may come across as over-dressed on my first ballet class if I appeared in white ballet tights? Should I get a different color, black perhaps? Or may be just turn up in shorts?
b. Is a dancebelt actually necessary for my first class?
Sorry for the noobie questions or if these questions have already been asked, but I'm really excited to do ballet and wearing tights for the first time:)
