So the last 5 months or so have been the worst of my life. Started with chest pain and GI symptoms, went to the hospital, heart checks out but weirdly high blood pressure, diagnosed with GERD and put on 80mg pantaprozole and new blood pressure meds (I've also been taking unprescribed omeprazole for years prior to this). Get endoscopy, get diagnosed with hiatal hernia and gastritis as well. Continue having GI symptoms, some nausea, constipation, diarrhea, chest feeling weird, maybe palpitations. Lost a ton of weight, had weird problems with appetite and my diet which remains vastly different than it used to be. Fast forward to now, last 10 days or so I've been having pins and needles, muscle pain, twitching, and heaviness especially in my left thigh area but kinda all over my legs. Weird electric zap feelings. Feeling off especially at night. Been going through really high anxiety and depression, more than ever before in my life. With all these symptoms my doctor thinks its anxiety and are basically thinking its all in my head. I went in yesterday and none of my neurological symptoms were really on display so they said I probably have a magnesium deficiency and to start supplementing that. I asked about B12 deficiency and blood tests and they refused a blood test. So just in case I did just start the 1000 mcg sublingual B12 supplement along with magnesium glycinate and a multivitamin. These symptoms seem familiar to anyone here? Anyone have advice on how I can rule in or out nutritional deficiencies or get blood tests and stuff without my doctors help? Should I consider self administering shots? I'm in the US.
