I started taking a B complex vitamin on recommendation from someone in this community because my B12 is 252 and also I have signs of low B6. I know a lot of people go straight to high doses or injections but I read some horror stories on here about the āstartupā phase and donāt want to deal with that. So I thought taking a regular old pill would just be a weak way to ease into it.
However I have been having horrific insomnia for about 3 weeks. It takes me hours to fall asleep because my mind is totally awake. Then during the night I wake up multiple times from hot flashes or other things that donāt usually wake me up like a noise, having to pee, etc.
I feel like it is related to the B vitamins but I am not 100% sure ā I have gone through random phases of insomnia since childhood, and Iāve changed a lot of things lately. The hot flashes/waking up at night seemed to start before taking the vitamins, and full disclosure, Iāve been messing with my other (hormone-related) medications, but that change was like 5 months ago. I started taking magnesium at night about 3 weeks ago but theoretically that should have the opposite effect. I also have been exercising more frequently
So it seems like this could be due to a few factorsā daylight savings time shift, whatever is causing the hot flashes, and whatever is causing the alertness at night. Idk but I see on this sub that a lot of people experience insomnia as a āstartupā symptom. I am not going to just wait it out though. I feel like shit from being sleep deprived and now Im sick on top of it. Idk what to do
