Thought I’d ask the professionals
There is a glow throw going on, but it’s just UV lights and I’m not sure if they’re even painting the axes and I started looking for axes and ax handles with LEDs, or maybe even a compartment for a glow stick, but all I found were novelties, and a few god of war Cozz plays
Do you think it’s possible to make an ax with glowing highlights without relying on UV paint?
I’m a maker and a shaker and love, creative ideas from professionals, who know their stuff.
I have experience with LEDs, especially addressable fun ones I can program patterns, or even reactions to sensors or anything else
I had a friend is basically an ax, making genius, but he moved
Anyone have any bright ideas or just any ideas? I don’t think there’s any wrong ideas here just looking to brainstorm on something cool that doesn’t seem to exist.
I also have experience with a variety of materials, including carbon fiber, ABS nylon and have access to a maker space with a laser 3-D printer .
My only idea is if there’s a possible way to make any of this hollow and still structurally sound to throw. That would allow designs and space for light to come through as well as storing a battery and such.
Another idea was taking an existing ax and routing out LED channels modifying the handle to hold the battery and controller and then making it look good with resin overlay or acrylic inset.
Can you say I’m approaching this from the perspective of someone trapped in a maker space without a forge?
No worries if you think it’s a dumb idea and impossible, but I think Reddit is full of the smartest people on the planet and when you find a niche group of experts, it’s usually a good conversation
Oh, I guess another solution would just be small, isolated, LED designs or light gems that can be glued on and self-contained with a battery
Essentially taking an existing ax, and be dazzling it with mystic glow.
If you need a reason for this invention, think about how many times you’ve thrown your axes into the darkness then realize you have to go look for it, but it’s so dark out you give up and eventually find it rusted when you mow the lawn. This solves that problem.
Protecting yourself from monsters in the dark ? Now you don’t need a hand to hold a lantern on torch. You can add extra strength damage now that you’re using both hands on a one handed weapon.
OK this is my best idea by far and I don’t care if you take it and run with it and make a Bajillion dollars I want to see this in real life
Laser guided axe. How funny would it be to have a laser dot site? They weighed nothing you could use a cat toy.
That’s the kind of cyber punk world I want to live in
Sorry for the long post I get excited about this kind of stuff, and I like to create an collaborate with other artists .
Cheers and drop a comment if you can think of any cool ideas for glowing axes!
