Is it possible that it is not the fear of judgement of others but rather our own judgement of ourselves that scares us ?

someone pointed out how yellow my theeth are and I was unbothered by it because im mostly fine with it (ik it’s a bit gross but im trying to get better theeth hygiene )but when I miss a tiny social cue I will be deeply ashamed of it and be dissapointed of myself.
What do you think ?
