Hey y’all.
So I’m 28 (f) and I’ve had my first car since I bought it new from the dealership in 2019. It’s a Chevy spark Ls. Up until the point I bought the car, I’d driven a handful of times (like literally 5 to get my license)
Since I bought it I’ve kept up with every oil change, filters, tire rotation, and all recommended maintenance.
I used my car to move into my mew place June 16th, all of my money went into this new place. So when the oil change light came on June 17th I was already broke and hoping it’d be fine.
I’ve driven about 800 miles since then, maybe closer to 1,200. I have a prepaid trip to Vegas on Wednesday and I need to drive my dog to my aunts (250 mile round trip) tomorrow. I have $35 to last me (gas, food, etc) until I get paid Wednesday.
After that entire essay my questions are:
Can I drive the 200 miles safely?
Should I add oil in and the get it changed when I get paid?
How long can I go with fully synthetic oil before I need to do one of the above?
I’m not comfortable changing my own oil… I took it to fast 5 for the first time in October and the guy had to show me how to pop my hood, im not car savvy. I’m not gonna touch anything under there as I’m sure I’d fuck it up.
I grew up in care so I don’t have any males or older adults to ask these questions to.
Thank y’all!
