Partially Obstructing Air Flow through Radiator during extremely cold temperatures

Since the northeast is in the midst of bitter cold temperatures and my car’s heater is having trouble putting out any appreciable amount of heat, I wear thinking of partially blocking the incoming air across the radiator so more of the coolant stays warmer.
My question centers around which half of the radiator to block off: left/right or top/bottom.
