I can clearly remember back in early 2010s, I heard news outlets and scientists yelling about upcoming massive job replacement by AI/automation and out-of-control unemployment. I also heard many years ago that truck drivers and taxi drivers would be replaced by AI "very soon".... fast forward 13 years to the present, the unemployment rate in US is at a historic low.
I see trucks and taxis still driven by human drivers and restaurants still having human servers and stores still having human cashiers. Can anyone explain why?
