My neurologist sent me for some blood work that has come back rather discouraging for me. I am a 26 y/o male with lower back issues. I started experiencing some weakness and weird sensations in my legs, but sometimes in my arms too (which doesn’t make sense if it’s coming from the low back). So, I was sent to a neurologist. He conducted an EMG and Nerve Conduction Study on me, and everything seemed fine. However, my blood test results are indicating that I have some sort of autoimmune condition.
Other symptoms that I’ve experienced include general feeling of being unwell, severe deep leg pain just below my left knee that comes on quickly and lasts about 4-5 seconds then goes away. I have also felt my mid-upper back pain and stiffness now, and neck pain and stiffness. My posture is beginning to suffer because of it. It is difficult to maintain good posture, my body is fighting me to round forward. I’ve also started to develop a clicking sound in my neck just below the base of my skull, and sometimes pain on the left side of my jaw when I try to correct my posture.
Here are the abnormal results:
Mean Cell Hemoglobin Concentration: 346g/L
Antinuclear Antibody: Positive
ANA Titre: 1:80
ANA Pattern: Speckled
Thank you.
