Soil mix

So far I was thinking of jus growing my auto flowers in FFOF and giving them nutrients along the way but I have seen other people mix different things to make a better soil so would FFOF be fine or should I mix in with something more. I was also thinking is it viable to just start by putting my seed in the soil or would that cause the plant to get nutrient burn
