Question about Autodesk Sketchbook

Hi. I bought the mobile app a few weeks ago and I really enjoy the relatively new shade-fill feature ( one side darker than the other sort of deal ) but I'm having a silly problem with it. I'm drawing the initial barebones pen layer, then in another layer fill the spaces ( with 'sample all layers' ). Problem is what I have left after I remove the pen layer are white lines between the parts I've filled. Is there a way to include these parts? I'm using the smudge tool and it looks really awkward and pretty bad.
