bought a used bumper a different color than my car, what prep needs to be done?

I bought a used bumper that is a dark green, and my car is black. Bumper is in good shape with no major gouges or blemishes in the plastic. I'm planning on taking it to a shop to have them paint it, but I'm just curious how much prep they are going to have to do; aka how much more it's going to cost. Can they just spray the black over the green? Or will it need to be sanded and primed and all of that good stuff?
