I posted a few months ago regarding a Jeep that we bought that is in dire need of some exterior love. The clear coat on the hood has completely failed and also on the roof panels. In addition to that, there are two large areas that were previously repaired and now the filler is cracking. The Jeep is not worth anywhere near what it would cost to fix properly, so I have been exploring other options.
A friend of a friend says he can fix the cracking bondo, and do an entire paint job for around $800. That is even way cheaper than Earl scheib type places, so I am aware it's going to be bad, but just how bad? I figured the paint is pretty much already trash, so can he make it worse?
