Does the order of automod commands make a difference?

I have a script to auto lock all new posts in my sub to eliminate comments that I added recently. I also have one to auto delete new posts from low karma or low age accounts. I've noticed the auto delete posts are not getting auto locked. Do I need to add the auto lock script fist to do that?
I've had a recent issue of people able to comment on removed posts that weren't locked which I'm looking into in modhelp.
