After about a year of coolant ending up in my expansion tank and not in the radiator, I went ahead and replaced the head gasket. Mechanic told me i had a warped head. The job took a week and a half and i picked up my car on Feb 6th.
The symptoms I had were:
After long drives all the coolant ends up in the expansion tank and I would have to siphon it back into the rad. No overheating, no oil sludge no weird smells etc.
When i picked up my car the coolant level, in the expansion tank, was at MAX, since then, I've driven about 200 miles and have noticed that coolant level in the expansion tank is now between MIN and MAX.
Should I be concerned that now I'm losing coolant in the expansion tank? Should i call the mechanic and let him know or should i wait and see if it goes down pass the LOW line? All in all, the car is running like new, and maybe I'm just paranoid now with some sort of Coolant PTSD, but man, this is freaking me out.
Its covered under warranty, but, wanted to hear you guys thoughts!
