I started my detailing journey in 2015 when I bought a 2011 Porsche Boxster. Learned a ton on this subreddit, and still read here occasionally.
Over time, I've gotten... lazier about keeping my car clean. I'm still driving the same car, but there are a ton of rock chips and such that I'm OK with cutting some corners to not keep it in pristine condition. I've noticed since I've started that new products have come onto the market and that made things a lot easier for folks. E.g. when I started, wax (warm glow) and sealant (shiny, lasts longer) were the only two options. Now, there's ceramic coatings and many people recommend spray wax.
Right now, my process is to rinse car with hose, wash wheels with Meguiar's wheel cleaner, wash car with Optimum car wash (2 bucket method), then occasionally apply Wolfgang's paint sealant with a DA polisher (set on minimum speed). I've tried waxing wheels with a wheel wax, but I've found it is NOT worth the trouble. Washing wheels in general is also a PITA. I have a small garage, so applying paint sealant is also rather difficult.
I'm thinking about just doing ONR in a single bucket once/week, wiping down my wheels with the same bucket after (different towel though), and looking doing a spray wax instead of paint sealant. I've seen TEC582 recommended a lot.
What products were previously recommended and are now not worth the trouble? What newer products are your favorite go-tos?
