I was wondering if anyone wanted to share their special interests here? We could post them and possibly find others who like similar things. At the very least, it could be a fun way to talk a lot about your favourite subjects and answer questions others may have!
So many of them and I usually cycle through them:
Movies and TV shows (in general but I can hyper focus on one for bits of time), aerial silks, fashion history, Hollywood history, Witcher, The Sims games, accountancy, true crime, death and illnesses and history of medicine and death in culture, witchcraft, American 1960s, linguistics...
I just finished Cheer S2 so I'm going down that rabbit hole again. I also have shows which I rewatch and research constantly, like Gilmore Girls and Mad Men.
I play Sims 2 and Sims 4 although the 4 has been my main game lately. I can spend literally whole day playing, barely remembering to eat and drink!

My interests in history usually fall more to the side of culture and society (this is what I specialised in when being an academic), so Space Race isn't that much in my scope but there was a Stephen King essay in which he reminisces the launch of Sputnik, which is a seminal work in what was my area of research
