On an incident during a final exam
Post Body

I recently had a very triggering experience during an engineering course’s final exam at my school. During the test, I asked the exam proctor if I could use the bathroom. When she requested that I empty my pockets first (likely because my phone was visible), I became very upset. This triggered an intense emotional response.

I reacted strongly & aggressively, saying “this is not a Nazi concentration camp. Next you want to watch me inside the bathroom?”. When the course examiner came to address the situation, I told her to talk to me after the exam. Upon hurting her ego, she said she would submit a report to my professor, to which I responded “do whatever you want”. There was also a brief incident where the proctor attempted to take my student ID without permission, but i angrily told her leave it on my desk which she did.

I ended up not going to the bathroom but told her I’d complain. I recognize now that my anxiety and CPTSD symptoms (I am also autistic) influenced my reactions. I recognize my mind may be exaggerating, so that’s why I wanted to seek feedback
