What do Allistics get that Autistics "don't get"?
Post Body

There's this buddy program my city has that pairs Autisic kids with Allistic kids in a mentorship program.

But what bothers me about this is, how do the allistic kids know any more than the Autistic kids do? Shouldn't this pairing be a little more back and forth - maybe the Autistic kid will point out the 5 other things that a head nod could mean instead of assuming it's one thing with 95% certainty?

Am I understanding this concept correctly? Should I challenge their model a little bit?
