Hi all, thanks to my sensory issues my sense of smell is really good. Unfortunately that gets in the way sometimes. One of the things I can smell even in very small amounts is oil, especially rancid oil.
Inevitably my clothes end up getting very small amounts of oil on them, whether from cooking splatter, food spills, or just my skin or whatever else. Unfortunately I can smell the traces that are left behind after I wash my clothes. It's making me go though clothing faster than I otherwise would and I'm looking for solutions.
I used to use fairly strong smelling laundry detergent and I think that covered up some of it. Unfortunately I seem to be intolerant to stuff with chemical smells these days and I've had to switch to the gentler ones, but that's made the oil problem worse.
So I'm looking for any ideas people have about how to deal with this. I've tried changing laundry detergent, bleach, borax, and oxiclean without success. Any suggestions that can help me save my clothes would be really appreciated!
